Welsh has been taught at Lampeter since 1827 and we feel that we do it rather well. The Department holds the much sought after Partnership Trust European Language Award, presented for the design and delivery of innovative language courses of the highest quality. The award is sponsored by employers with a keen interest in the quality of language graduates. The Department currently has 12 members of staff, whose interests encompass the main areas of Welsh and Celtic Studies. There are around 50 full-time students in the Department, and over 2500 pursuing various courses by part-time study.
We are based in St. David's Building, part of the original university building. Our teaching rooms and e-learning centre are based in the building shown in the picture above. |
